  1. The bicycle gave me the clue and memories have come to mind ... I can remember a group of friends travelling around The Netherlands and a stunning picture taken in a cosy house of Antwerp (of course, it had a bicycle at the door).
Those days are gone because our lives have been changed but our friendship will keep going forerver and ever and as Bogart and Bergman said.... “We always have Antwerp...”

  2. We are in a peaceful village in Italy. It´s hot and people are resting after a long working morning. They must be fresh and strong enough to enjoy at the expected "Summer Dancing Night".

  3. This picture looks like an Andalusian landscape, specially because of the colourful flowerpots and watering cans. The thickness of the front of building could make us think it is an old house, still far piecework $$$...I think the most noteworthy element in this image is the stairs, ornate with colourful steps, whose funtion is more decorative, holding pots, than akin to a work.

  5. This photo is absolutely amazing, at least for me, because it reminds me my erasmus year in Italy.
I do believe, the house is renting by University students. But for the bike, the colors and the plants, I wouldn't have thought so.
Anyway, as for the bike, the students who live there might go around riding instead of driving a car. It's said that an University student can't afford to maintain a car and has to ride a bike instead.
Looking the stairs, it seems they may have cats, because students have usually a pet, specially cats because they don't need more attention.
Regarding the plants, It looks as if at least one of them has a green thumb and is fond of looking after different kind of plants.
Were I to live in this house, I'd be at ease surely, this experience is highly recommended for everyone who wants to. If only I could come back to that period ....

  7. Looking this photo my mind returns my chilhood. A sailor neighborhood where I could walk around its streets accompanied by a breath of fresh air.
Not only could I see fishermen nets, but I also saw houses that looked like this picture in which a wooden stick was laid in the hall in order to dry the catch and everything surrounded by gorgeous flowerpots.

  8. At first sight, this image takes me as if it were the beginning of a book, where the main character begins to tell the story in a colourful two-story house, likely to be located in some sparsely inhabited Mediterranean village. It is not a modern house, but it seems to be very cosy. The facade shows some flowerpots with plants, a mountain bike and, in my opinion, the most remarkable aspect, the handmade wooden ladder with steps in different colours, probably used by a pet as a cat.

  9. Here comes the freak comment of the week :-)

This picture uploaded to the blog has reminded me another one that it is included in the Windows XP operating system to be used as wallpaper for the PC desktop. Specifically, this other picture is the one that can be found in the following link:

    http://www.ampaceiplescorts.es/gallery/wallpapers/photos/Casa.jpg

In both pictures we can see a rough textured wall (with quite similar colors among the two images), a light colored window, some plans and a ladder, having into account that the one in the blog seems to be designed to be used by some kind of pet, probably a cat, just to enter or leave the house.

Finally, because of the architectural style, I don’t think any of these two houses are placed in Spain, or at least at the south of the country.

  10. This is a simple house, and I suppose owners like caring environment because there is a bycicle and you can see a lot of plants.
I´m sure that this coloured ladder is for a pet, maybe a cat.
This colour on the wall reminds me to Italy, and I think that the house is located in a small village, because of the quiet atmosphere you can feel in the picture. Definitely, a place where I would like to live.

  11. If you asked me what I think about this picture, I would tell you that, no sooner had I seen it, that I thought in Greece.
Describing the picture, in the upper part we can see a window with blue shutters. Just above, there is another one apparently with red and closed shutters. In the bottom left-hand corner there is a bike which might suggest the owner is sporty and concerned about environment. To the very right an aquamarine door with might be a service door.
Obviously, in the picture I clearly see a house but it looks as if it is the back end of this house because in the lower part we can see many disorganized flowerpot and gazing a red stick which might be a mop or a brush stick.
Curiously, in the foreground there is a stick with small color pieces putting across the picture from the ground until the upper window, although sadly, I don´t know what it is.
This piece is loosely based on the 20th century and far for being abstract or an ambiguous picture, I would go so far as to say that not only is it lifelike but also seems colorful and peaceful picture. It might well be a quiet or serene place located in the Mediterranean coast, where I would enjoy walking and living.

  12. I think what I see is a scene ready to be painted by an artist. There is a very beatiful house but the artist has added some interesting elements. The most impacting one is what seems to be a giant candy stick but also there are some colourful plantpotstands and a watering can. There are four elements I cannot see very well but they are important. The first one is that over the main door on the right that seems like cotton. The second is that flying on the lower window. The third one are that kind of darts at the right side of the main door. And finally the grey animal on the cuishon. The green and blue colors are very beautiful. I think the paint will be superb.

  13. At first sight, this photograph reminds me of a Italian city, a country where I lived one year with an Erasmus scholarship (to be precise in the city of Siena) but, in a more profound analysis, the construction is not typical of Siena´s city center because the houses over there are made of stone (most of them have at least five hundred years) and the windows are totally different in its openness and color (usually green).

Maybe, as my colleague said, we can deduce it is an image of an Erasmus student house full of people like me, who did not have enough money to live in the historic center, and decided to live “a little bit” far away (at about 20 kms. in my particular case) where the buildings were totally new and most similar in construction to the one we see (thick walls and no stone at all).

The bike is also the usual way to move if you are a student in Italy (beware of the thieves) and even more, if you live a long way back home from the University.

To conclude, the different types of potted plants and the watering shows that the inhabitants of the house like gardening.

I wish I could spend another year as stunning as the one I enjoyed thirteen years ago!

  14. This picture shows the front part of a house in a sunny day. It seems to be a small residence with two floors, and a big stick of wood is connecting the upper window with the street, maybe for allowing birds to stay there and sing their beautiful melodies. I would say it is a Mediterranean city, probably Italy or Spain, where a peaceful atmosphere can be appreciated and there is no place for traffic jams and rush hours. The vivid green and violet colours of the vegetation transmit a sense of happiness and quietness, which I am sure it is able to cheer you up when arriving home after the most stressful and tiring day.

  16. Although the house´s appearance could be nice and quite , in my opinion it is a bit mysterious ... I really like going in there just by looking at it.
It is decorated with strange little trinkets from the window to the door which seem to be there as an artwork.
The effects of the addition of a bike make me to believe someone is inside , although I must admit that all this uncertainty can produce different descriptions and hence different interpretations of it .
As I see it , the inside of the house is just as spooky as the outside. In fact, I have a feeling of unsecurity and fear .
Finally, the picture doesn´t remain me nothing special.

  17. The picture shows the front of a house. Althought some of the details are quite simple, such as the wall or the door, there are some other more interesting elements which provide some information about the person who lives there.
First, a wooden stick highlights in the middle of the picture. This stick has been somehow converted into some kind of stairs using some green and pink pieces of wood as steps. Looking in detail, it can be observed that there are some animal footprints painted on the stairs, which indicates it is used by a pet, probably a cat.
Second, there are a lot of plants all around the house and a blue watering can decorated with some flowers.
Finally, the bycicle at the left side of the picture indicates that the resident is either a sporty person or an ecologist. Considering this person also likes plants and animals, it is more likely to be the second option, an ecologist.

  18. At first sight, this picture shows a quite simple house with doors and windows painted in lively colours. In my opinion, this is characteristic of some Mediterranean cities from the north of Africa or the north of the Iberian Peninsula.

One thing that catches your attention is the long wooden stick which is probably used as a ladder for pets. All the potted plants and the brightly painted watering can also stand out in the picture. This beautiful painting is completed by the bicycle leaning on the wall. The moisture stains on the lower part of the wall and the way it has been painted (not whitewashed), make me think that the house is located in a rainier place than the Mediterranean.

Because of all this, I tend to think that this house might be a Galician or Asturian house. It seems to me that the people who live in that house love animals and nature, so maybe they are committed with the preservation of the environment.

  19. The scene in this picture gives off serenity and calm. All these colourful, well-kept flowerpots and this cute, hand-made ladder for pets, lead one to think of a very emotionally balanced owner, in connection with nature. However, this summer holydays happy tourist thinking is due to the fact that this cosy house is not located at my neighbourhood. Here, you would never leave your splendid bicycle out in the street, unlocked. Neither you could expect your neighbours watering your plants or at least not stealing them just to throw them away, and definitely you would never have a ladder getting into your room. Citizen´s safety worries me these days. I do not know where the picture has been taken, but, differently from my neighbourhood, people must be really cool there.

P.D. I bet on Greece or Turkey!

    1. At first sight, this photo draws my attention to colour variety and light present in this facade. I believe that the sun plays an important role here. Not only, is a warm environment created from sun rays reflected over the floor but also from bright colours from plants and flowerpots in the front door of the house. This photo could suit perfectly with a narrow street of a tiny village placed somewhere in the Mediterranean area.

  20. This is a picture of a front house in a Mediterranean Country. I think it could well be Spain or Italy because of the colors and light which creates a peaceful atmosphere. I believed that the people who live there must be a keen gardener as all the front of the house is covered with flowerpots which contains a wide variety of different flowers. In this picture I can also see a kind of wooden ladder which connects the second floor with the ground which makes me think of this ladder must be used by cats or even by birds.

Describing this picture, we can see at the bottom left hand of the picture there is a mountain bike leaning on the façade which might belong either to a young person or a sporty person. Next to the bike there is a window which has a big plant on it, probably a palm tree. At the bottom right hand there is an old blue wooden door with a rectangular-shaped glass window.

Finally, at the top left hand there is another window with a plant and a blue watering can with flowery pattern.

  21. What first comes to my mind when I see this picture, is a village located somewhere in the Mediterranean coast, I think it could be Italy.
I think this photo could have been taken in spring because the plants are green and maintained, even the one that is hanging from the ladder is flowering.

If I had an opportunity, I wouldn't hesitate to visit that place because the sunlight, colorful pots, bicycle and the ladder that seems to be made for a cat, as a whole, makes a cozy place of it.

  22. The more I look at this photo, the more I strongly believe that this house is located somewhere in a Mediterranean country, let's say Greece. What touches me about the picture is the simplicity of the house along with the vivid colours that cover the flowerpots and the ladder.
When gazing at the wonderful snapshot, it reminds me of the film "Mamma Mia", which is set on a Greek island. You could easily imagine that someone has just entered the house after a long exhausting afternoon riding by the lake...

  23. This photo remind me one of my most vivid childhood memories in an adalusian small village. The flowerpots decorating the windows, the postman¨s bicycle in the street while he was delivering the diary mail, the sun brighting lazilly and the children playing. All in all, a quiet place where every moment is an opportunity to enjoy.
